Made by Hand by Wild Earth Inside

Each wool felted piece is 100% hand-made, with my own very hands. I do not use wet-felting tools of any kind. My bare hands allow me to have more control over the orientation of the wool and the designs. Each variation of Sheep wool and Alpaca have a distinct nature about them; when using my bare hands I am able to get more of a sense of the way they were sheared and the environment they inhabited. The wool is thoroughly cleaned during the wet-felting process with pure 100% Olive Oil soap.

Materials: Wool, Silk, Mohair

Hand-wet felted wool fiber, layered with local Alpaca and Navajo Churro Sheep from the Northern New Mexico region. Each design is embedded with natural dyed fine silk pigments and curly ivory and ash Angora. The wool felted pieces are versatile and intended to be used as light traffic floor throws/interior furnishing throws, floated/hung on the wall as art pieces or meditation/yoga mats. The Angora mohair, Navajo Churro and Alpaca wool predominantly come from local farms from Northern New Mexico.

Sustainable: Upcycled Wool. Natural dyed Silk Fibers

The fine silk fibers I design the felts with are dyed with sustainable and natural methods, and sourced in the US. The wet-felting process I have developed makes use of potentially otherwise discarded wool and allows for the concept of upcycling to recreate in a rugged and elegant artistic life force. The process is considered upcycled for the reason that in most cases, I use all of the wool from the shear without discriminating the value of its parts or heavily picking through the wool for specific desired textures.
