Co-founder of Ancient Rituals Apothecary, Ali Chai Co and Native Plant Spa, April Dunbar and her husband Tyler Dunbar have created and surrendered to the calling to bring the Wild Earth Inside. April has always allowed for fragments of her stories and dreams with nature to be called to and echoed through her work in the world, whether it be held in calm and gentle whispers, or raging storms and fire. Each element has a voice and a message, April believes the uncharted alchemy is what flows through the experiences and manifestations of her work, and expressed as such; mysticism. The wool throws and art pieces that April hand-wet felts are representative of this magic and a medium for the language with nature and the ever expanding fields of the elemental life alchemy experience.
Wild Earth Inside originally gained its name with April’s love for wool and integrating characters and qualities of nature into felted images and patterns from parts of the animal’s shear that are otherwise discarded. In this light of upcycling aspects of nature and its beauty, April and Tyler Dunbar, husband and wife and co-owners of Wild Earth Inside, have developed an incredible passion for the spirit of upcycling, expanding the concept of Wild Earth Inside to include Tyler’s skills and art in the respect and reciprocation of nature’s gifts and castings. The wool felts are versatile and can be used in any household to enliven the spirit of an interior space. The art and design of the wool felted pieces draw from the inspiration of the elements and nature, allowing more space for the indoors to reflect the outdoors. The wool is gathered from local sheep, goat and alpaca farms in Northern NM. The fine silk fibers integrated into the patterns and designs are retrieved in the US, any and all fiber that is dyed is done so with ethical and sustainable methods.
